Leonardo – Momento Zero Grande Aka Tamenuri Exclusive
2021 comes with new challenges for Pen Venture, we embrace those and we like to mark them with tokens of appreciation for our customers and for the passion we bear for fine writing instruments. The idea of an exclusive limited edition writing instrument is not new, what is new is the result of my most exotic choices for such a collection that finally, we want to share with you all.
Leonardo Officina Italiana provided us with the base for one of the most epic projects that we brought to life, the 2019 Momento Zero Grande model, made from Japanese black ebonite. Complete with the captured converter filling system (non-detachable) with 1.2 ml ink capacity. All of the Momento Zero Grande usual metal trims are the same, the only difference being the barrel that runs continuously without an end knob.
This pen comes equipped with 14k Gold Jowo nibs, ebonite feed and the range for nib sizes depends on the choice of color for the pen.
The entire collection numbers 9 fountain pens, with one Artist Proof being with the renowned artist who gave them the two eye-catching beautiful urushi finishes.
Michal Kulka, took his passion for Japanese Urushi Lacquer to the final frontier and became a renowned urushi master in the fountain pen community, based in Poland, his Tamenuri Studio brings to life your ideas that involve urushi lacquer. After many months of work and a collective effort between us three – Leonardo Officina Italiana, Tamenuri Studio, and Pen Venture, we are proud to showcase the Momento Zero Grande Urushi Exclusive limited edition fountain pens.
Available in two urushi finishes, subtle Aka Tamenuri – a personal interpretation of the traditional Japanese Aka Tamenuri with more red showing and the eye-catching Midori Tamenuri – a rich and velvety green color peaking at every ridge and every edge of the fountain pen.
A project that took well over 10 months in work and we are proud of the outcome not only that, also thankful for both of our partners that made everything possible to offer you these creations.
Tamenuri comes from the words ”tame” – lake/pond and ”nuri” – painting/lacquering. The technique always consists of two distinct layers – the middle one – pigmented urushi – solid color and the top layer – a transparent urushi, that is never colorless but with a faint amber, amber, brown shade, or after a special treatment – even black.
